A HIGHER HUMANITARIANISM

I never forget when a physicist, seeing my
exposition of the Unified Field Theory, said,
"I'm disappointed. It is a humanitarian theory."
I smiled and thanked him, making some accommodating
remarks.
But I never forget that, and often think about
that incident. Actually he is right, and in fact
he was paying me a very nice compliment.
If we would take a "pure" physical theory of
elementary particles and fundamental forces,
and proceed to examine its contents, connections,
and meaning, we would soon enter a realm which,
inspite of ourselves, we would have to call either
"metaphysical" or "humanitarian".
Why? First of all, because at the foundation
of the existence and organization of fundamental
cosmological particles, laws and constants, there
is a clear purpose and origin -- it is God. If
one denies that, then one denies the entire
Bible; furthermore, you are left with no good
explanation but rather an incredible accident.
Secondly, because the mechanical motions of
particles and atoms becomes a meaningless dance
unless you connect it with the same beautiful
order which is reflected at all higher levels
of structure and relationship -- molecular,
biological, ecological, the individual human
being, the family, society, nations, all mankind,
and on to the planetary systems, nebulae,
galaxies, intergalactic clusters, the entire
universe, and also the spiritual world. So the
order and purpose at the level of particle
physics is connected in a unified system,
centered on the purpose of love, to the whole
vast entirety -- and that purpose is sheerly
for you and me and our families, in the loving
world of humanity centered upon God!
   There you have the "higher humanitarianism";
and not only that, you also have metaphysics,
religion and theology.
To look at fundamental interactions (strong
and weak nuclear forces, electromagnetism, and
gravity and antigravitation) alone and to define
any "Unified Field Theory" in that realm alone
is to limit yourself to just one realm of an
entire spectrum which itself is the manifestation
of that same overall Unified Field principle and
purpose.
In this: The breakthrough realization and
revelation which in fact explains and unifies
not only the physical forces but also the entire
whole is exactly this: that everything was
designed, planned and created by God in a unified
organized whole with a clear, simple and beautiful
purpose: to make the universe centered on people
as families with whom God could have the most
intimate and full relationship of love in all
its nuances.
For that purpose God enacted the creation
and existence of fundamental particles, the
Big Bang, evolution, and all the rest. So that
we could be here, with a universe to live in,
and many interesting things surrounding us.
Therefore, as one of numerous corollaries,
we can also understand that the same "family"
relationships observed in the human race, also
are observed among fundamental particles. Also,
they have free will and personalities, as any
physicist will tell you.
To extend the concept of the "unified field
theory" of fundamental interactions to embrace
the whole scope of the universe is no insult
or reduction at all, but on the contrary: it
is a noble contribution, bringing physicists,
humanists, and religionists together.
   Furthermore, it provides the springboard
or platform upon which to further examine the
fundamental interactions and the cosmological
constants themselves, keeping in mind this
pervasive intent of God in creating and
organizing them.
I wish you happy and fruitful research in
both physical and humanitarian realms, returning
glory to God and peace and happiness to mankind!
